The best iPad Air 5 prices could save you money on Apple's latest tablet. The Pad Air 5 was only released in March 2022, but we've already seen a few discounts at retailers. We'll be linking direct to the best prices on this page, so if there's a discount available you'll find it via the links below. For reference, here are the links to buy at the standard retail price straight from Apple itself.

- UK: buy the iPad Air 5 at Apple from £569 (opens in new tab)
The regular iPad Air 5 prices set it as the mid-range option in Apple's lineup of tablets. It's around twice the price of the entry-level iPad Air 10.2 but a good deal cheaper than the 2021 iPad Pros despite packing the same M1 chip. Released on 18 March, the iPad Air 5 has a stunning 3.8 million pixel, 10.9-inch Liquid Retina screen, ultra-fast 5G and a front camera with Centre Stage for video conferencing. Apple says it's 60 per cent faster than its previous 2020 iPad Air.

The best iPad Air 5 prices
The starting iPad Air 5 price is $599/£569 for the Wi-Fi configured tablet with 64GB of storage. Wi-fi with cellular models start at $899/£719. These days 64GB of storage isn't exactly generous, although it might do if you use cloud storage. But anyone handling a lot of media will probably want to opt for the 256GB configuration, which is priced at $749/£719 for the wi-fi version and $899/£869 for the wi-fi and 5G cellular version.
Keep your eye on the links above for discounts on that. We've already seen Amazon offering discounts of up to £50 / £40. For some context, the standard entry-level iPad 9th generation starts at $329/£319, while the iPad Pro 11 starts at $799/$749 and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro at $1099/£999. That puts the iPad Air square in the middle as something of a more affordable iPad Pro lite.
Which is the best iPad Air to buy?
The 2020 4th gen iPad Air is still widely available and is coming in for more discounts, but for our money, the new 5th-generation iPad Air (2022) is a worthwhile upgrade. It doesn't offer a big upgrade in terms of design, but it has the same M1 processor as the 2021 iPad Pros for superb performance.
With a stunning 10.9in 1640 x 2360 Liquid Retina IPS LCD screen with a wide colour gamut, great speakers and very reasonable battery life, it's almost something of an iPad Pro lite at a more affordable price – just. It also supports the 2nd gen Apple Pencil, sports a 12 MP, f/1.8 dual pixel main camera and a 12 MP f/2.4 ultrawide selfie camera and comes in five colour options.
